Held in Stockholm’s Moderna Museet, Francis Bacon: Målningar 1945-1964 showcased the artist’s output in Sweden for the very first time. Beginning with his Figure in a Landscape of 1945, further highlights of the exhibition included Bacon’s homages to Van Gogh during the late fifties, and continued with his portraiture up until the end of 1964, with Lucian Freud, George Dyer and Isabel Rawsthorne among his subjects.
