To mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, BBC Radio 4 has asked thousands of listeners to choose who they think should be on the final list of the top 60 Great Britons who have made the greatest impact on the British Isles during the 60 year reign of Queen Elizabeth II. After careful consideration by a panel of historians, BBC Radio 4 announced today the 60 public figure nominees with Francis Bacon and David Hockney being the only two artists making the final list. James Naughtie will present on Radio 4 from Monday to Friday the profiles of the New Elizabethans from 11th June at 12.45.
